Joell (she/ella) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who enjoys working with adults and adolescents of all ages as they invest in their own mental health.  She earned her Master of Social Work at Boston College and Master of Divinity at Baylor University.  Joell is also a certified yoga teacher through the Boston Yoga School, all 3 experiences of which have informed her holistic approach to therapy.

As a former military brat, Joell comes from a place of curiosity and a desire to see and experience the world through a variety of perspectives.  Her therapeutic approach is one of deep empathy and compassion, exuding warmth and inviting her clients to open up and explore that which pains them or holds them back.

As a social worker, Joell has worked with individuals with a trauma background, frequently struggling with anxiety and depression.  She has also worked with children and families impacted by chronic illness, most notably cancer.  Joell has navigated the murky landscape of death and non-death loss, guiding clients in the midst of complicated grief.

Joell's passion for this work comes from a deeply rooted belief in the resilience of the human spirit, even through the greatest of hardships.  To sustain her work, Joell enjoys reading young adult novels, watching sports, spending time by the water, drinking generous amounts of coffee, and cuddling with her two boxers named Dobby and Theo.

Contact Joell to book an appointment. She sees clients in the Westlake office and online.
