Ayesha Macon, PMHNP
I have always had a passion for psychiatry and mental health. I attended Johns Hopkins and received a BA in psychology and assumed my path would lead me to become a psychiatrist or psychologist. I realized quickly that the medical model was not for me and, after working for a couple of years in “the real world,” I decided to return to the Hopkins Nursing School to continue my path to treating the mental health of my fellow humans. I went directly from graduation to psychiatric nursing and did inpatient, PHP, and outpatient work. After gaining experience, I went back to school for my PMHNP and have continued to train in multiple areas since then.
I am certified in integrative psychiatry through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute and trained in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy by PRATI. I believe deeply in having multiple tools available to help patients unlock their inner healers and reach optimal mental health.
