Carly Bassett, LCSW-S
Carly (she/her) specializes in treating clients impacted by trauma, grief & loss, older adults, and couples. Carly is trained in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, EMDR Therapy and Gottman Couples Therapy Level 1 and 2. Currently Carly is offering KAP sessions on Fridays in the Westlake office. She is open to offer KAP to individuals, couples and groups.
Carly’s career as a social worker began in the hospice setting where she developed skills and expertise in working with the dying and the bereaved. She has a passion for serving bereaved families and individuals who are grieving. She also has special interest in working with older adults, as well as helping professionals experiencing burnout and job-related stress. Carly is LGBTQIA+allied.
Carly has been a social worker since 2008, and in private practice since 2011. Her career as a social worker and therapist has provided her with some of the most profound moments and connections in her life, and she is continuously in awe of the power in relationship with others in the therapy room. Carly’s style is down-to-Earth, compassionate, and non-judgmental. She is passionate about her work with clients and truly cares about the people she works with—and they can feel that.
Additionally, Carly is a Board Approved Supervisor and supervises licensed master’s level social workers in the greater Austin community. She enjoys writing about parenting issues, playing tennis, cooking and engaging in creative arts in her personal life. Carly often offers online guided journaling courses through Moonstone. She received her Master’s in Social Work with a clinical concentration from The University of Texas at Austin in 2008.
