Alexis Aguren (she/they)

Howdy! I’m Alexis Aguren (aw-grin), a licensed clinical social worker, domestic violence specialist, and an expert on building fulfilling, meaningful relationships. Let’s partner to deepen your connection with yourself and the world around you, uncover and ground yourself in your values, and learn to apply new skills, perspectives, and strategies within your interpersonal connections.

I fell in love with social work as a profession after finding it later in life - as a lifelong learner and  challenger of the status quo, the advocacy aspect of social work has been a strong thread through my career. I’ve had the opportunity to work with and learn from people of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences, and ground my practice in the power of human connection. I identify as a member of the queer community and am supportive of LGBTQ+ clients.

You’ll like me if: You prefer a warm, approachable, yet direct supportive relationship. You’re fascinated with brain science. You cope with humor. You’re a parent with a reluctant teen. You’re a therapy skeptic.

“There’s some good in the world, Mr. Frodo, and it’s worth fighting for” - Samwise Gamgee

When I’m not practicing therapy, you might find me playing Dungeons and Dragons, crafting, or taking care of my menagerie of animals (2 dogs, 2 tarantulas, 1 praying mantis, 1 snake, and a variety of aquatic life).
