Lindsay Schneider, LCSW
It is my goal to foster a welcoming, nurturing, and trusting space in which you feel safe and supported in exploring your true, authentic self, and the experiences which have shaped you. I believe healing begins within, and it is my intention to be a point of support, a guide, and an advocate in your healing journey. I intend to serve clients in a manner that is most effective for them, and this means tailoring sessions on an individual and ongoing basis to best meet your needs.
My approach in working with clients can be described as person-centered, meaning I believe an individual is the sole expert on their own life and experiences. The majority of my professional therapeutic experience is within the long term inpatient psychiatric setting. In this space, I spent time with adults experiencing a wide range of debilitating psychiatric symptoms. I've worked with people who have endured trauma, interpersonal relationship difficulties, financial hardships, homelessness, abuse, addictions, and discrimination. I've also assisted individuals with navigating the criminal justice system, LGBTQIA+ specific issues and barriers, and veterans.
A little bit about me: I am a parent, a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, a veteran, and a lifelong learner who is passionate about supporting others on their therapeutic journeys. Prior to my start as a social worker and therapist, I spent four years in the army with one overseas deployment, I worked in the Medicaid field assisting people with transportation needs, and later returned to school to study social work at Texas State University. Although I had other experiences leading up to practicing as a licensed clinical social worker, I have always had a calling to do this work.
Thank you for taking this difficult and commendable step of seeking out support, and I look forward to having the opportunity to be a part of your healing journey.
